The Front Range near Denver, Colorado is home to several wineries. Because of the high elevation, grapes here mature in August and September. This region is especially known for its fruit wines, semi-sparkling wines, such as the Moscato, light-bodied wines, such as Reisling, and dessert wines, such as Chenin Blanc and Sauternes.
Several wineries are in and around Denver and Boulder, with others by Loveland, Arvada, and Evergreen. There are also a couple as far South as Colorado Springs and Cascade.
Each May, downtown Denver hosts the All Colorado Fine Arts Festival. Neighboring Lafayette hosts the Festival of Colorado Wine in June. Wine tastings and tours are only offered seasonally. Local restaurants feature Colorado wines matched with their fine fare.
