Hotel Reservations near NORTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY WINE COUNTRY
The North Willamette Valley, consists of the area on both sides of the Willamette River in Oregon between and include the Clackamas and Tualatin Valley areas. The North end of this valley hosts approximately 50 wineries, producing the majority of the Oregon wines. Because of this high productivity level, this area is also affectionately known as the “heart of the wine country.”
Because of its cool climate, only some grape varieties prosper here. The most acclaimed are the Pinots (Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc). Other popular wines include the Riesling, Chardonnay, and Sparkling varieties.
Season’s events start at the end of February with the Oregon Wine Industry Symposium. Visitors in March can participate in the Annual Great Gorge Grape & Gouda Gala in March and the Greatest of the Grape. Other events to anticipate include dinner auctions, the Hood River’s Pear & Wine Festival, and the Taste of Beaverton.
