St. George, about 2 hours from the bright lights of Las Vegas, is also considered a gateway to Zion National Park (45 minutes), Bryce Canyon National Park (2 1/2 hours), and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (3 hours). Additionally, St. George is about one hour away from Cedar Breaks National Monument and from Brian Head Ski Resort. In the surrounding area, there are also ghost towns, beautiful state parks, canyons, horse riding, historical sites in town, and dining at excellent and diverse restaurants.

The St. George area became known as "Utah's Dixie", because many early settlers were from the South and their crops included cotton. A variety of accommodations are available - from the economy to the resorts.
